Derventio Quartet was formed in Derby in 2001.
Laura, Rob, Sarah and Angi have studied at some of Britain’s top Music Schools and Conservatoires including Chethams School of Music, The Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Northern College of Music.
As a string quartet, the group plays regularly for weddings, gigs, corporate events and special occasions at venues nationwide.
Previous Engagements
Derventio Quartet has performed at a wide range of engagements including a reception for Princess Anne for the opening of Immingham Docks, the official opening of the Royal Derby Hospital by Her Majesty the Queen, a ‘Classical Evening’ at Uttoxeter Race Course, the Mayor’s Civic Dinner and Ball in the Derby Assembly Rooms. In June, Derventio will be performing for HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire’s Annual Dinner.
The string quartet has also played a Maida Vale studio session for Radio 1 with hip hop artist ‘Baby J’, followed by further appearances on BBC Radio, at London’s iluvlive festival and a nationwide tour with rapper ‘Sway’ and African Drummer Richard Olatunde Baker.
Individually, members have performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Nottingham Castle, The Bridgewater Hall, Granada Studios, Derby Playhouse, Old Trafford and the Chatsworth House private theatre.
